About InvestHAQ

Who we are, how we screen funds, and every commercial relationship we hold.

Methodology

How we read a fund, in full

Every fund on this site is put through the same four questions, in the same order. Where an answer cannot be sourced we publish that it cannot, rather than estimating it.

  1. Shariah screening

For each fund we record whether it uses a documented Shariah screening method (Yes / No / Unclear), which standard is applied (AAOIFI, MSCI Islamic, S&P Shariah, FTSE Yasaar, Dow Jones Islamic, or a custom approach), and a link to the certifying document where available. We do not adjudicate between standards.

  2. Performance and benchmarks

Returns shown are net of fees, as disclosed by the fund manager. Where the benchmark is a commercially licensed index (MSCI, S&P, Bloomberg, FTSE Yasaar) we display only the index name and link to the licensor's factsheet — we do not republish index values. CPI- and RBA-based benchmarks are calculated against ABS / RBA public data.

  3. Fees normalisation

All fees are presented on a GST-inclusive basis. Where a fund discloses fees ex-GST, we apply a 10% GST adjustment and footnote the conversion. Where a fund does not disclose a single Total Cost Ratio figure, we show the components individually and the headline Total Cost Ratio as "Not disclosed" — we do not calculate or estimate it.

  4. Data sources and refresh

Listed ETFs are refreshed daily. Unlisted retail and wholesale funds quarterly. Superannuation funds quarterly. Each fund profile shows a "Last verified" date adjacent to the data. Source documents include the fund's PDS, IM, TMD, and the fund manager's website.
